You may have seen on the BBC and other news pages a recent release of a new harmful virus called ‘Bad Rabbit’. Originally only reported in Russia & Ukraine, we have had a number of customers contact us to say that their users are being targeted in the last 24 hours.
Launched through a bogus Adobe Flash update, the virus is undetected by the majority of anti-virus programs and therefore easy to catch people out. If a user downloads the virus, it will encrypt user files and demand a ransom to be paid to release the data.
We wanted to make you aware as quickly as possible so that you can advise your end users to be extra vigilant if prompted to do an Adobe update. The BBC article can be found here.
Of course, if you become aware that you have been infected, please do let us know immediately so that we can work with you to minimise the impact of the virus & restore your data as quickly as possible.
